About the RDSUA

Welcome to the official website of the Red Deer Softball Umpires Association (RDSUA). While it is the off-season for most softball participants, the RDSUA is preparing for what is expected to be an exceptionally busy 2018 season.

Clinic dates have been set for 2018 (see below), and we expect a very busy local tournament schedule. Traditionally, the RDSUA assigns umpires for tournaments every weekend starting the first weekend of May until the end of June. Some weekends require every available umpire. Dates and locations will be reviewed at the clinic, as well as the procedure used for assigning umpires for tournaments.

The full list of tournaments that occur throughout the province can be found below along with the dates and locations of Western and National championships

If you are an umpire who is new to the Red Deer/central Alberta region, or you are interested in starting your umpiring career, please contact any member of the RDSUA executive listed in the Contact Us section of this website.

Information sheet for Minor Associations

Representatives of the RDSUA attend the annual scheduling meeting for minor ball associations in central Alberta in late April.

Associations are reminded to submit their schedules to the RDSUA Assignor, at assignor@rdsua.ca, as soon as possible after the meeting. Each Association is requested to submit the schedules for all teams in the association at the same time, rather than having each coach submit individually.

As well, please ensure that schedules include: Age Division, Visiting Team Name, Home Team Name, Start Time, Diamond # or Name. All of these items are required to allow for the games to be entered into Arbiter, and have umpires assigned.
