How do I become an umpire?

The National Softball Officials Certification Program was developed to educate, certify and ultimately improve the skills of umpires across Canada. The program teaches umpires rules and definitions of softball, proper dress and equipment,  use of the official Softball Canada Rule Book, and plate and base umpire mechanics.

The following levels must be attained in order to umpire in the following events:

Provincial Minor TournamentsLevel I
Provincial Junior TournamentsLevel II
Bantam A Girls, Midget Boys, Midget Girls, and Jr. Women ProvincialsLevel III
Jr. Men, Sr. Women, and Sr. Men Canadian ChampionshipsLevel IV
International TournamentsLevel V
